University Security
The Department of University Security would like to share with you information on crime prevention presentations/training we can offer you. Designed for the campus lifestyle, the Boise Police Department Crime Prevention Unit and University Security provides free presentations/training in the areas of:
ADULT PERSONAL SAFETY/THEFT PREVENTION:
Learn tools that will protect you while schooling, socializing, and working and living in the
University environment. Personal safety principles and practical steps will be discussed. This program
will also teach you how to build a personal safety plan and also how to build the empowerment of
prevention for protecting both your personal and university assets.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS:
Learn prevention techniques that will keep you safe in the campus community. Personal safety principles
and rape prevention will be discussed as well as learning tools to protect you while socializing.
WORKPLACE SAFETY:
The power of prevention can also be brought into the workplace and utilized to keep you safe while on
the job. You will learn to recognize and utilize personal safety measures while working on campus.
SELF DEFENSE:
This program is geared for women and requires a minimum of 10 attendees. Learn basic self defense
techniques to protect you from violence and volatile situations. Learn how to use your voice and body
when protecting yourself.
WORKPLACE SAFETY EVALUATIONS:
Upon request, an evaluation of a building, office or individual work space will be completed. Lighting,
entry areas, exits, visibility, escape/evacuation routes, adjacent uses and other physical factors
contributing to workplace safety will be evaluated. If needed, recommendations for physical changes to
enhance workplace safety will be provided to you.
