What We Do
Facilities Planning
- Make initial contact with project sponsors
- Develop preliminary project cost estimates
- Prepare program statements defining project space requirements, cost and schedule
- Prepare supporting documentation for state, federal, and private funding requests
- Provide facility planning support for campus planning efforts
Architectural & Engineering Services
- Select consultants and prepare agreements
- Design and specifications for projects less than $150,000 in total project costs
- Serve as BSU Project Manager for projects whose total project budgets exceed $150,000 and are managed by the Division of Public Works
- Bid, award and contract preparation
- Construction inspection
- Coordinate warranty and closeout phases
- Coordinate review of projects at critical phases by in-house staff and various entities (user groups, Facilities Planning Council, Division of Public Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Office of Information Technology, Facilities, Operations & Maintenance, etc.)
- Communication and coordination between all parties involved or impacted by the project
- Keep project on track (within budget, approved scope and schedule)
- Review and approve payment requests from consultants, contractors and other vendors
